Our nursing community
Joining CWPT means being a part of a supportive nursing community.
Nurses, nurse associates, and nurse support workers make up nearly 45% of our workforce. We have recently launched a three-year nursing strategy which has been coproduced, to make sure we are delivering on the priorities our nurses have told us they want.
Within our community, we’re proud to have an experienced legacy nurse. They offer tailored support and guidance to our newer ward managers and leaders while they navigate and adapt to their role.
Our teaching ambition
We will help you get to where you want to go, and our ambition to achieve University Trust status will open even more opportunities for you and your development.
It will also make us one of the first NHS partnership Trusts/ mental health providers to formally prioritise and recognise our teaching capabilities.
We’re proud of the support we give to our nurses and NHS England have awarded us the National Preceptorship for Nursing Interim Quality Mark for our nursing preceptorship programme.
Our nursing specialisms
One of the things that makes CWPT so unique is the huge range of professional specialisms we offer for nursing. There are endless opportunities for nurses, including in nearby Solihull.
We deliver mental health inpatient, urgent care, and community services for adults and older adults and offer specialist mental health services for children and young people, called RISE.
Our all-age learning disability and autism services provide respite, inpatient and community services in Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull. At the heart of this is Brooklands Hospital, an aspiring Centre of Excellence which is renowned throughout the UK and has specialist forensic services and medium and low-security wards.
Our new ambition to be the lead NHS provider for integrated children’s services for Coventry and Warwickshire will mean we can better join up our care across mental health, learning disability and autism, and children’s physical health services. It also means that if you join us at this exciting time, there will be opportunities to contribute and shape our services as they develop.
