“You left me speechless and inspired!” - Chloe Ralph crowned our latest DAISY Award honouree

Congratulations to Registered Midwife Chloe Ralph, our latest DAISY Award honouree.

DAISY Awards, funded and supported by UHCW Charity, recognise the inspiring work of our nurses and midwives.

Chloe, who works on the Labour Ward, was nominated for the “personal, intelligent, competent, loving and awe-inspiring care” she showed a patient.

Her nomination read:

“I was induced on 26th December 2023 and when my contractions started on 27th, I was moved to delivery room at around 3am where I met Chloe. At the beginning I didn’t realise that actually it wasn’t the first time seeing her, she used to come to Windmill Surgery at the very beginning of my pregnancy (I have seen her only twice there). I cannot thank her enough for what she has done and the way she handled everything.

“Between contractions I was able to tell her my expectations (to do skin to skin with my baby, to wait placenta to be delivered naturally, to guide my delivery in order to avoid any tears as much as possible). Chloe was amazing, she did everything to fulfil my expectations, always smiling very careful. She definitely knew what she was doing and I fully trusted her.

“To Chloe: We (me, my husband and baby Noah) cannot thank you enough for the personal, intelligent, competent, loving and awe-inspiring care you provided for our family during this amazing time. You left me speechless and inspired! Thank you for what you do, how you do it and for bringing meaning, collaboration and compassionate energy into the medical realm.

“There is so much that I absorbed during my labour that I didn’t get chance to tell you, that I fear you may think went unnoticed, but I assure you, it did not. You saw me when I was at my most vulnerable, you remained calm when you witnessed me terrified, and you treated me with dignity at a time when I felt my least dignified. You listened to me, respected my wishes and you shared with me my most intimate moments.”
