Her work on increasing patient flow not only in her area, but across the Trust, saw Modern Matron Lynda Mott pick up the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Individual Award.
The Award, chosen for by Trust CEO, Professor Andy Hardy, was a fitting ending to the formal part of the evening.
Andy said:
“Lynda has implemented some amazing work to increase patient flow in her area, going from one patient per week through the discharge lounge to a maximum of 10.
She has created an environment where her team truly lives the ‘better never stops’ mentality, often discussing that while things might not be perfect, they are aware of what needs to improve and work together to do just that.
Not only has she worked hard to implement the learnings from UHCWi into her own area, but has even helped to bring this to wards and departments right across the Trust.”
Collecting her award, Lynda said:
“This is my first year at the OSCAs. It has been absolutely amazing tonight and to see the people you work with just makes you so proud of the organisation we work with. I work with the most amazing team. I have been in the organisation for 16 years and I’ve not left renal because I absolutely love it there. I love medicine as a group, and I do honestly believe that I have the best job in the world. I’m so grateful to everybody I work with."
