"We won't ever forget her support and care" - Ellen Gallagher crowned our latest DAISY Award honouree

Congratulations to Registered Nurse Ellen Gallagher who is our latest DAISY Award honouree.

DAISY Awards, funded and supported by UHCW Charity, recognise the inspiring work of our nurses and midwives.

Ellen, who works on Ward 23 Gynaecology, was nominated for the compassionate care she showed for a patient.

Her nomination read:

"My husband and I were in hospital to deliver our sleeping baby.

"Ellen was our nurse and from our admittance to the ward until the end of her shift, she was incredible. She was compassionate, she was thoughtful, and she supported us through the most heartbreaking day of our lives.

"She treated ourselves and our angel baby with the utmost of respect - she could not have done more to help us remember our baby with love.

"Words aren't enough to thank Ellen but hopefully this nomination will go some way to showing her how important she was to us this day and we won't ever forget her support and care."
