Following our successful celebrations for International Nurses Day, a handful of our nurses were able to attend the Florence Nightingale Foundation commemoration service at Westminster Abbey.
The team had the opportunity to meet the Chief Nursing Officer for England, Ruth May, as well as many other nursing colleagues.
Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Jazzi Chopra-Povall, said: “I was honoured to have been able to attend such a prestigious event that celebrated the foundations of nursing and the founder.
"It was surreal to be part of such a memorable evening that brought together the value of nursing and why I became a nurse.
“If there is one thing I would recommend to all nurses, it is to attend this ceremony at least once in your career – it is so worth celebrating yourself."
Adding to this, Adult Congenital Heart Disease Nurse, Albiona Zhupaj, said: “I was beyond proud of being a Florence Nightingale Fellow and honoured to have been given the privilege to attend such an emotional and memorable service.”
Well done to all of you for representing Team UHCW.
