‘I’m the happiest person in the world’ - Monica Elliott scoops Educator in Practice Award

Huge congratulations to Children’s Nurse Monica Elliot, this year’s winner of the Educator in Practice Award - sponsored by Coventry University. 

New in 2024, the Educator in Practice Award is nominated for by Coventry University students who have undertaken a placement at UHCW. Whilst helping to inspire the next generation of nurses, Monica consistently demonstrates each and every Trust value.

Her nomination read:

“Monica was my Practice Supervisor on several occasions during my placement and every single shift I worked alongside her was enjoyable and felt like a positive, worthwhile learning experience.

Working with Monica also increased my confidence, as she gave me the space and encouraged me to work independently when appropriate, by allowing me to manage my own patients whilst supervising at arm’s length.

She is one of the few nurses I can say has made me feel really excited to become a qualified nurse!”

Accepting her award, Monica said:

“I’m the happiest person in the world. I love working in paediatrics and respiratory is my specialism. I love it - there is so much to learn in paediatrics. Thank you.”
