Charge Nurse Joby Cyriac has been crowned the winner of this year’s Supporting the Delivery of Care Award.
This award is designed for staff making a difference in a nonclinical respect, and Joby was nominated for his commitment towards the education of Kerala nurses throughout the UK.
Joby’s nomination read:
“Joby has demonstrated outstanding leadership by creating a Facebook group for Kerala nurses in the UK. This platform has become an essential resource, enabling networking, information sharing, and mutual support among its members.
Additionally, Joby has established a WhatsApp group with thousands of Kerala nurses joining. This group has become a vital communication tool, facilitating real-time support and information exchange.
Every Sunday at 8:00pm, Joby organises free informative lecture sessions on various topics through the Facebook platform, dedicating his time and resources. To date, he has organised over 120 sessions.”
Joby said:
“I don’t know what to say. It is a surprise. I never expected to get this award. This is my greatest achievement. This last year has been terrible for me because I lost my mum, so this award I dedicate to my mum. Thank you to my wonderful colleagues and managers. It’s wonderful to be part of this team.”
A huge congratulations to Joby and the other shortlisted nominees, Neonatal Outreach Administrator Keira Woodier and Senior Clinical Fellow Mostafa Ahmed.
