Case study

Asha Sebastian

I have been working as a staff nurse in UHCW since 2022.

“To be a member of the team is something to be proud of. I was working as a staff nurse in India after I graduated in 2014. Though I wasn’t sure how to cope after been moved to a foreign country, team has been very supportive and welcomed to their team when I joined the trust. I am entitled to do help children feel better which is the best thing I love about my job. Along with being professional in my role by caring for them, I enjoy spending time with babies. The most rewarding aspect of becoming a paediatric nurse is the emotional rewards I receive from caring for babies from their parents and happiness in their face especially when supporting people when they are at a vulnerable point in their lives with kindness, care and respect.

Also, I am provided with ongoing training to improve my knowledge, base skills, and expertise. As nursing is evolving, this job offered me the opportunity to keep learning, growing, and training through e-learning, study days and training sessions. Also, the mutually fulfilling relationships helping me to gain and learn insights from other team members . I am very glad that I am part of the paediatric unit in UHCW.”
