Coventry and Warwickshire Maternity Voices Partnership
Coventry and Warwickshire's Maternity Voices Partnership ensure the views, experiences and ideas of local mothers and birthing people contribute to the development of local maternity care by collecting feedback and sharing information.
What is a Maternity Voices Partnership?
Maternity Voices Partnerships, sometimes called MVPs, are NHS independently-lead local working groups made up of women and their families, midwives, doctors and other health professionals working together to review and contribute to the development of local maternity care.
The Coventry and Warwickshire MVP is part of this national initiative; we listen to and engage with local maternity services, and feed this back to providers and commissioners. The group invites feedback from service users and their families at any time, and often after birth when there has been time to reflect.
The MVP advocates to include the service user’s experience at all levels of designing, planning and delivering services. This is in line with the Better Births Report recommendation that MVPs work within the local neonatal and maternity systems to co-produce services.
There will be four local MVP groups covering Coventry, North Warwickshire, Rugby and South Warwickshire. They feed into the overarching Coventry and Warwickshire MVP.

The Chair of Coventry and Warwickshire MVP is Leanne Howlett: leanne.howlett@nhs.net
Leanne Howlett has been Chairperson of the Coventry and Warwickshire MVP since 2019. She has two young children and lives in Warwickshire. The experience of becoming a parent led her to retrain from a solicitor to become a psychiatric nurse. Leanne is also an advocate for perinatal mental health.
