Cancer Screening and Diagnostics tests
Breast screening service
Breast screening aims to find breast cancer at an early stage, often before there are any symptoms.
In line with the national screening programme women are invited once every three years from the age of 50 to be screened. Women aged over 70 can self-refer every three years for as long as they wish to be screened.
Cervical Screening
All eligible people who are registered with a GP (as female) automatically receive an invitation by mail. Trans men (assigned female at birth) do not receive invitations if registered as male with their GP, but are still entitled to screening if they have a cervix.
