Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health

What is the Concordat and why we’ve signed up

Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System (ICS) has committed to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and prevent poor mental health by becoming a signatory to the Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health.

A concordat is a formal agreement or commitment between two or more organisations that sets out a number of principles and priorities that all signatories agree to.

The Prevention Concordat for Better Mental Health describes the shared commitment of signatories (which include NHS, Local Authorities and Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector (VCFSE)) across Coventry and Warwickshire to work together to:

  • promote mental health and wellbeing
  • prevent mental health problems
  • improve the lives of people experiencing and recovering from mental health problems
  • reduce mental health inequalities.
