Living With & Beyond Cancer
Finding out you have cancer can be confusing, scary and overwhelming.
It can often feel like a lonely time, however there is help available for people who are diagnosed with cancer.
Across Coventry and Warwickshire our Living with and Beyond Cancer programme, developed by the NHS and Macmillan Cancer Support, supports people, to lead a good quality of life following their cancer diagnosis.
The programme helps people emotionally, financially, and practically offering support, advice and information they need at a difficult time.
The hospital Cancer Information and Support teams can provide information and support for anyone affected by cancer, including friends and family.
People newly diagnosed with cancer and their relatives or carers, are invited to attend a New to Cancer event. These online events offer advice on nutrition, fatigue, physical activity and emotional wellbeing. Information about treatment such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy will be presented, and you can find out about who can help you with financial and benefits advice. If you are a carer, advice will be offered as to who can help you too.
