Year of Wellbeing Blog: John's story

Everyone has their own story to share about ways they have found to care for their own wellbeing, and the wellbeing of other people.

A team of bloggers have agreed to describe their personal journey. We hope their stories help and inspire others during our Year of Wellbeing.

Nature, or Personal Choice?

You may have heard the saying, ‘Act your age, not your shoe size’.

Life is made of choices, and you do not have to live to your biological make-up if you don’t want to.

What about your own personal biology? Should you feel you have to live a certain way just because of your biological make up? For example, why should you feel you have to live up to your blood group? Should your blood group define you? Is it like being born a Leo or Piscean? I don’t think so. You could change for the better if you want. It is all about your outlook.

So, what exactly is your blood group, and is it trying to tell you something?

A positive - Are you ‘A positive person’ if not, why not?

It is your decision, why not be even more positive?

A negative - This is not an instruction, you do not have to be negative, you too can become more positive.   You do not have to be ‘A negative person’, you can change yourself to become more positive.

B positive - Could your blood group be telling you to be Positive? Why not listen to it and be more positive?

AB positive - Take this as advice, think of it as an instruction to “Always Be Positive”

AB negative - Again this can be an instruction to ‘Avoid Being Negative’. Yes, you too can be more positive!

O positive or O negative - Remember plus or minus zero is still zero. You don’t need to just think ‘O is for Ordinary’, but with a little bit of thought and effort you can change Ordinary into Extraordinary!

And here’s one final thought. Is negative always a bad thing? I would certainly like cancer results to come back negative, so in some cases a negative can certainly be a positive!

Think, decide, then change if you wish, but always aim for better, whether that is a better positive, or a better negative.

Getting better is always the thing to aim for. And remember, the choice is always yours.
