NHS Coventry and Warwickshire have announced the appointment of Chris Hurst as a Non-Executive Member and Audit Chair following the departure of Bill Butler.%20(002)(3).jpg)
With a professional background in finance, Chris has worked in the public and private sectors in national and local government. He brings over 20 years of experience of working in and with the NHS at director level. He is also an experienced management consultant and executive coach; he is currently the Deputy Chair on the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Board.
Chris Hurst, newly appointed Non-Executive Member of NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, said:
“I am very pleased to join the Coventry and Warwickshire ICB team as a Non-Executive Member and very much look forward to working with colleagues across the health and social care system.
“The challenge to reduce health inequalities across the system, and to improve access to and the quality of some services, presents a significant challenge for all organisations in our health and social care system. It will also require the support of our partners in the housing and the voluntary sectors, and in wider local government. However, I am impressed with the level of ambition and commitment I have already seen across the Coventry and Warwickshire system leadership team to deliver improvements for local citizens and patients. My ambition is to be able to use my experience to add further momentum to this progress."
Danielle Oum, Chair of NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Chris to Coventry and Warwickshire ICB. The wealth of experience he brings will support us to improve health outcomes and tackle health inequalities across Coventry and Warwickshire whilst ensuring productivity and value in our use of resources. He is a great addition to the organisation and I very much look forward to working with him.”
Chris’s appointment comes after Bill Butler has decided to step down from his role as Non-Executive Member to take on a new opportunity.
Danielle said:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill for the work he has done while at the ICB. In particular, his chairing of the Finance and Performance and Audit Committees has been excellent and I’m extremely grateful for his support. I wish him all the best in his new role.”
