LOCAL COMMUNITY GROUP KNIT 2 METRE SCARF TO SUPPORT THINK WHICH SERVICE CAMPAIGN
9 May 2024
A local community group in Coventry have knitted a 2-metre-long scarf to support the ‘Think Which Service’ campaign, which aims to raise awareness of when to use the various NHS services that are offered across Coventry and Warwickshire.
The Saheli group in Coventry offer support to women from south Asian communities by providing a safe space in a culturally sensitive environment that offers language support to women who are isolated and vulnerable and assistance to those who do not speak English as a first language. The women empower each other to get involved in local activities, such as knitting, singing, dancing, yoga, and arts/crafts.
The group wanted to support the local NHS and volunteered their time and skills by knitting a promotional scarf that will be used at events across Coventry and Warwickshire. The scarf has 6 sections, each representing a different service: Self-care, NHS 111, Pharmacy, GP, Urgent Treatment Centres and 999/A&E.
The group did an amazing job and everyone at the ICB is so grateful for all of their efforts and can’t wait to use the scarf in upcoming events.
The ‘Think Which Service’ campaign aims to help direct people to the right service for their need first time – meaning they can access treatment quicker whilst also reducing pressure on the health system.
As part of the campaign, there has been a new section created on the Happy Healthy Lives website with information on each service, including details about the service, the circumstances in which you should use it, and how patients can access it. There have also been a number of short videos created where healthcare professionals talk about the various services.
You can view the ‘Think Which Service’ webpages here.
