A NEW STAGE IN INTEGRATED CARE FOR COVENTRY & WARWICKSHIRE

Welcome to a new stage in Integrated Care for Coventry and Warwickshire.

We are the new Integrated Care Board (ICB), bringing together health and care across Coventry and Warwickshire. We’re excited about the future and how we can enable people across the area to start well, live well and age well, promoting independence and putting people at the heart of everything we do.

Integrated working isn’t new for us, and we have a strong foundation to build on locally. Across Coventry and Warwickshire you are likely to have already been part of joined up “system” working which is making a difference. Together, we led the way in the national Elective Accelerator programme which reduced waiting lists across the area and we worked together across health and care to roll out the highly successful vaccine campaign. Integrated working doesn’t just mean thing which happen at scale and there are also many fantastic local initiatives which bring together local health providers, care services, voluntary sector organisations and communities, from GP practices joining together to hire care co-ordinators who can help people to access the support they need, to new remote monitoring technology which means local care homes can identify small changes in their residents’ health and get them treatment early. Everything you do when you’re working together is part of making integrated working a success.

We know there are significant challenges facing all of us and we still need to do much more to keep people well. As an ICB we have the legislative backing to now go faster and further. We’ve brought together the Clinical Commissioning Group and the Health and Care Partnership, governed by leaders from across health and care, to deliver the four aims of the ICS

  • Improve outcomes in population health and healthcare
  • Tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access
  • Enhance productivity and value for money
  • Help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

The ICB is just getting started and we want everyone to be involved in improving health and care. Get in touch via our website at happyhealthylives.uk and help us to enable people to start well, live well and age well in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Meet the Board

The Board of the ICB brings together health and care leaders from across the area to work together to decide how the NHS budget for Coventry and Warwickshire is spent and develop a plan to improve people’s health, deliver higher-quality care and better value for money. It has strong representation from non-executive members as well as our two Healthwatch organisations, ensuring that we keep the local population at the forefront of our decision making at all times.

Understand the wider picture

The changes happening in Coventry and Warwickshire are driven by national legislation in the new Health and Social Care Act. The Kings Fund have developed a video which gives an overview of the changes to the NHS, the roles of the various organisations and how they are working together.
