Ongoing clinical leadership is vital for the Integrated Care Board, with the new 10-year health plan for the NHS due to be published in 2025. This plan will set out the priorities and strategic direction for the entire health and care service, and the ICB will lead the system transformation needed deliver these, in line with their vision for Coventry and Warwickshire of helping people to start well, live well and age well, promoting independence and putting people at the heart of everything they do.
Dr Imogen Staveley, newly appointed Chief Medical Officer at NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, said:
“I’m delighted to have joined Coventry and Warwickshire ICB as Chief Medical Officer. As someone who lives and works as a GP locally, I’m passionate about delivering better health and care services for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire and I’m excited at the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our local communities.
“I recognise that I’m joining the ICB at a time where there are many challenges facing the NHS and there is expected to be significant changes in how we deliver services. However, I also believe that these changes can offer exciting opportunities for us to improve the way services are delivered, improve health outcomes, reduce health inequalities and make people feel more involved in the care they receive.”
Phil Johns, Chief Executive Officer at NHS Coventry and Warwickshire ICB, said:
“On behalf of everyone at the ICB, I’d like to welcome Imogen to her new role as Chief Medical Officer. I’m pleased that we’ve been able to appoint someone who has extensive experience in clinical leadership and commissioning organisations, and who has a strong working knowledge of Coventry and Warwickshire. I’m confident she will make a positive impact on the ICB and the wider health and care system.
“I’d also like to thank Dr Angela Brady for her hard work and dedication throughout the time she has been with the ICB. She has provided excellent leadership during a challenging time for the NHS and I wish her well on the next stage of her career.”
