ACCESSING HEALTHCARE SERVICES & GETTING A COVID-19 VACCINATION THIS MAY DAY WEEKEND

The May Day Bank Holiday is nearly here, and we want to make people aware of the healthcare services available this weekend and bank holiday, including getting a Covid-19 vaccination.

While some pharmacies in Coventry and Warwickshire close on bank holidays, some stay open during specific hours. Pharmacists can provide advice and treatment for common illnesses and conditions such as diarrhoea, fever, headache, sore throat, cough, upset stomach, and more, with no need for an appointment.

The bank holiday pharmacy opening hours across Coventry and Warwickshire can be found on the NHS England and NHS Improvement website at this link https://www.england.nhs.uk/midlands/nhs-england-and-nhs-improvement-midlands-work/bank-holiday-pharmacy-opening-times/#coventry-and-warwickshire

If you need more urgent medical care but it’s not an emergency, use the 111 online service for anyone over the age of five. www.111.nhs.uk assess you in the same way as the telephone service and, if you should need it, book you at time slot at an accident and emergency department. When you need help for a child under the age of five, you should use the 111 telephone service.

Some vaccination clinics will also be open and vaccinating to protect against Covid-19. If you need a vaccination, a Spring Booster, or your child aged 5-11 needs theirs, now is the perfect time to head to a clinic and protect yourself, friends, and family as we move into the warmer months.
