Year of Wellbeing – Stress Awareness (April 2019)

Mindfulness session for staffStaff at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust are making sure they are ‘stress aware’ in a number of ways.

On Thursday, April 11, the Trust’s Clinical Psychology department hosted a Building Resilience to Stress Workshop at Warwick Hospital.

Clinical Psychologist Dr Natalie Craddock helped Trust staff and members to rethink how we see stress. She explained that there is actually an optimum level of stress where we are most effective, and this exists between boredom or lack of motivation and being so stressed that you are unable to cope.

Dr Craddock also highlighted that it we cannot completely remove stress from our lives but can instead use tactics to manage it such as mindfulness and breathing techniques.

Mindfulness is something that has been growing in popularity across the Trust with lots of staff now using it to bring calm to busy days and reduce stress.
