Working with the VCFSE
The Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) Sector is an integral and important part of our Integrated Care System.
1) Complementing Services: They often fill gaps in healthcare services, providing support and care that might not be available through traditional channels.
2) Community Engagement: They are often deeply rooted in the communities they serve, which helps in understanding and addressing specific local health needs effectively.
3) Innovation and Flexibility: They can often innovate and adapt more quickly than larger, bureaucratic institutions. This allows them to implement new approaches and solutions to health and care challenges.
4) Advocacy and Awareness: The voluntary sector plays a key role in raising awareness about health issues, advocating for patient rights, and influencing health policy.
5) Support Services: They provide essential support services such as mental health counselling, chronic disease management, and palliative care, which are crucial for patient well-being.
6) Volunteer Contributions: Volunteers bring additional resources, energy, and personal care to healthcare services, often enhancing patient experience and support.
7) Cost-Effectiveness: VCFSE organisations often operate with lower overhead costs and can provide cost-effective solutions and services.
8) Specialised Knowledge and Services: Many voluntary organizations focus on specific health conditions or local communities, bringing specialised knowledge and services that may not be available elsewhere.
9) Building Trust: VCFSE organisations often have a high level of trust within communities, which can be crucial for effective health interventions and support.
10) Holistic Care: They tend to take a holistic approach to health, considering not just medical needs but also social, emotional, and practical support.
To support closer working the Integrated Care System has established a VCFSE Collaborative which will help all VCFSE organisations across the ICS to have a voice within the system.
New pages for the VCFSE Collaborative will be launching soon so please check back!
