Information Governance Advisory Group

The sharing of information between health and social care organisations is a key enabler to improving citizen’s care and support.

The Information Governance Advisory Group are the primary group for reviewing and advising on information sharing activity Data Protection and confidentiality for the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System.

The group was formed 6 years ago from two separate IG groups across the region as it was identified that a requirement for an ongoing advisory group was needed to provide an integrated approach within Coventry and Warwickshire to support the Digital Transformation Board agenda providing assurance of compliance of sharing activity with any local or national guidance/legislation.

The group is represented by individual from different organisation, NHS, Local Council, LMC, GP surgeries and hospices.

An Information Sharing Strategy is in place for all key strategic partners across the health and social care economy.

The group provides support and advice to project managers/leads requiring information management and sharing solutions and acts as the focal point for the local implementation of the Information Sharing Strategy, who work collaboratively to resolve information sharing issues as they arise.

The Information Governance Advisory Group will provide guidance to the Coventry and Warwickshire Health and Care collective within the Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STP) website.

The website will provide engaging communications, tools and channels of information which underpins the groups support to deliver integrated service activity across the STP footprint.
