Creative Health Alliance
Welcome to pages about the Coventry and Warwickshire Creative Health Alliance.
We are a loose alliance of organisations and individuals eager to see creative activity used to engage people in order to improve health and wellbeing.
In these pages you can find out more about who we are, what we are doing, and get involved!
Coventry and Warwickshire Creative Health Alliance has been established to strengthen the links between the creative, health and care sectors. There is strong evidence for the benefits of arts and creativity in terms of increasing wellbeing, physical activity and social connections. The arts also offer powerful ways to raise awareness and challenge both the public and professionals to think differently about health and wellbeing issues and solutions for improvement.
A Steering Group for the Alliance brings together representatives from the creative sector, NHS organisations and local authorities to develop and oversee a programme of work to address local health and wellbeing priorities using ‘Creative Health’ approaches; advocating, evidencing and disseminating examples of impact as a tool for positive change across clinical and community settings.
The Alliance was established in response to the report by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Arts, Health and Wellbeing. The report ‘Creative Health; The Arts for Health and Wellbeing’ highlights good practice and research on the benefits of the arts for health and social care.
